Information Technology (IT)

Technology Services (TS) is an internal service department that serves the information technology needs of the Village of Wellington’s departments, including the Water Department. TS is responsible for enterprise-wide communication and information technology services.
The mission of Technology Services (TS) is to research new technologies, evaluate their potential application toward assisting the Village of Wellington in achieving its goals and objectives, and manage applied technologies to ensure the optimum levels of internal and external customer service. What does the Technology Services branch do? The Information Technology (IT) Services branch is responsible for providing information management (IM) and technology services (TS) that support the Village’s core business operations and delivery of services to the residents of Wellington. Technology Services (TS) provides secure access to information for city staff and residents, and ensures that the information technology that departments use every day to deliver Village services is reliable, cost effective, and well managed. This is accomplished by providing technology solutions, automating manual business processes, and improving the management of information to make it accessible to Village staff and residents, while protecting privacy and fostering openness.
What services do we provide?
Technology Services is responsible for delivering the following services:
- The Village’s wired and wireless telecommunications and network infrastructure
- Corporate-wide and departmental business systems/applications
- Records and information management across the Village
- Planning, designing, and supporting information/technology strategic direction
- Helpdesk
- Computer training
- Web-site services and administration
Who do we provide those services to?
The Technology Services department directly serves elected officials and all of the Village of Wellington’s departments. We provide technical support for many public-facing technologies, such as the Village’s web site, webcasting, recreation program registration, etc.
