Scott's Place

Amphitheater

S
cott's Place Barrier-Free Playground was made possible by a generous donation fromWellington residents Del and Barbara Williamson in honor of their son Scott who passed away at age six. The playground is designed to meet the needs of both able-bodied and disabled children. The playground includes a full acre of accessible playground equipment including slides, sensory items, shades, swings, wheelchair ramps and many other attractions.

Wellington created the Wellington Community Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) in order to accept tax deductible contributions to help fund this project. As part of this exciting project, Wellington held a community build weekend event where more than 300 volunteers assembled all of Scott's Place playground equipment. Scott's Place Barrier-Free Playground opened on March 1, 2010 and has been an overwhelming success.
